Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, based out of Bellevue, WA; Richardson, TX; or Bethesda, MD

Annual salary: $100,000–$215,000

What you will do

• Scope, design, and build scalable and resilient distributed systems for the next generation underwriting platform.
• Revamp existing tier-1 underwriting services and develop production-ready consumer experiences leveraging AI.
• Collaborate with underwriting operations and cross-functional partners throughout the software lifecycle.
• Participate in design sessions and code reviews while improving engineering practices across teams.
• Define products, analyze requirements, estimate work, and drive solutions that improve underwriting efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 4+ years of experience with security, identity, architecture, and design.
• Professional experience with Java, C#, or another modern object-oriented language.
• Experience designing reliable, scalable systems, service-oriented architectures, REST or gRPC APIs, databases, and monitoring tools.
• Understanding of DevOps concepts, cloud architecture, Azure DevOps, deployment, configuration management, and software development lifecycle tooling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of experience with open-source frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service provider.
