Senior Software Engineer, Migrations Engineering (Data Platform)

Location: Hybrid in Reno, Nevada or San Ramon, California

Salary: $153,000–$191,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend systems and data platform capabilities.
• Develop large-scale data pipelines and ingestion systems.
• Build migration tooling that helps customers transition from legacy systems.
• Modernize internal bulk tooling and operational workflows.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into technical designs and execution plans.
• Drive small-to-medium scoped features from design through delivery and collaborate across distributed offices.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong object-oriented backend engineering fundamentals.
• Experience building production systems in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to independently deliver production software and navigate ambiguous requirements.
• Experience collaborating through technical design and alignment phases.

Nice to have

• Experience with data platforms, data pipelines, distributed systems, or large-scale ingestion and analytical systems.
• Familiarity with Spark, Trino, Apache Iceberg, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
• Frontend development experience with modern UI frameworks.
• Experience with data migration or onboarding workflows in B2B SaaS.
• Experience in platform engineering or infrastructure-focused teams.
