Specialist, Workplace Solutions & AV Technology Specialist

Location: Dallas, TX; on-site Monday through Friday

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, test, and maintain conference room AV systems, smart boards, interactive displays, digital signage, microphones, Zoom Rooms, and Microsoft Teams Rooms.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, audio feedback, video dropouts, and software-hardware integration problems during meetings and executive events.
• Install and maintain low-voltage cabling, signal routes, terminations, labels, server racks, firmware, patches, and automated control systems.
• Coordinate with AV integrators, subcontractors, and OEM support teams during deployments and equipment lifecycle upgrades.
• Perform building maintenance, including HVAC monitoring, filter changes, thermostat scheduling through the BMS, furniture moves, and workspace reconfigurations.
• Configure event spaces and conduct safety inspections covering fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, egress routes, building codes, and OSHA requirements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in commercial facility management or corporate building systems, including 1–2 years focused on AV support and infrastructure maintenance.
• Knowledge of AV signal-flow topologies, matrix switchers, and control systems such as Q-SYS, Crestron, Extron, AMX, or Biamp.
• Understanding of IP networking fundamentals, including DHCP, Wi-Fi diagnostics, switch port verification, and AV-over-IP endpoints.
• Proficiency with trade tools, power equipment, diagnostic instruments, and commercial structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and technical explanation skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment up to 50 lbs and work on ladders, scissor lifts, in drop ceilings, and around technical racks.

Nice to have

• AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification.
• Building trade, facilities, or OSHA 10/30-hour certifications.
