TL;DR
Associate AV Field Engineer (Audiovisual Systems): Supporting on-site commissioning, validation, configuration, and troubleshooting of AV and IP-based network systems with an accent on signal flow, testing, and field documentation. Focus on assisting senior engineers, preparing test equipment, solving basic system issues, and developing hands-on skills in AV engineering.
Location: Boston Metropolitan Area, USA; New England area. On-site field work and travel to active construction or commercial sites are required.
Salary: $22.30–$28.00 per hour

What you will do
- Assist field engineers with AV system commissioning, validation, and testing.
- Configure AV equipment according to documented procedures.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of AV and IP-based network systems.
- Maintain documentation of field observations and testing results.
- Prepare tools, test equipment, and materials for field use.
- Collaborate with field teams while following safety and project protocols.
Requirements
- Interest in AV or technical systems demonstrated through education or hands-on experience.
- Basic understanding of signal flow and AV system components.
- Ability to follow directions, work in a team, learn quickly, and maintain attention to detail.
- Audinate Introduction to IP Networking for AV Systems certification, or ability to obtain it.
- Extron AV Associate certification, or ability to obtain it.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site at active construction or commercial sites.
Nice to have
- AVIXA Recognized Technologist Certificate.
- Microsoft Office 365 proficiency.
- DSP certification from Biamp, QSC, or BSS.
- Control certification from QSC, Extron, or Crestron.
- Experience with AV systems, IT hardware, low-voltage installations, cable termination, racking, or basic system wiring.
