Lead Data Manager/SAS Programmer (SAS)

Location: United States - Remote

What you will do

• Provide senior technical leadership for data management and programming across clinical, observational, and epidemiological research studies.
• Define database architectures, data workflows, specifications, collection instruments, validation rules, integration processes, and delivery requirements.
• Design and oversee SAS programs and reusable automated frameworks for cleaning, transforming, validating, integrating, and managing research data.
• Establish data quality, reconciliation, discrepancy resolution, and quality control processes across the full study lifecycle.
• Oversee study datasets, reports, extracts, interim data cuts, and final data deliverables.
• Mentor data management and programming staff and collaborate with investigators, statisticians, epidemiologists, and operations teams.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in computer science, health sciences, statistics, data science, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or an M.S. degree with 8+ years of experience.
• Advanced SAS programming skills, including DATA and PROC steps, macro programming, data transformation, integration, validation, and automation.
• Extensive experience managing complex clinical, observational, epidemiological, biomedical, or other research data.
• Experience with research data lifecycle management, multi-source data integration, reconciliation, data quality, QC frameworks, and technical oversight.
• Familiarity with NIH Common Data Elements, CDISC, OMOP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, GCP, and FAIR principles.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with two or more of R, Python, SQL, database architecture and development, Git or other version control systems, APIs, and scalable research data workflow tools.
