Data Engineer (LADS - Logistics Analytics Data Services) - Active Secret Clearance

Location: Remote, based in South Carolina; Conditions: North Charleston, South Carolina

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines with Python, SQL, and Databricks Workflows.
• Implement Change Data Capture pipelines for incremental inserts, updates, and deletes.
• Build and manage Delta Lake Lakehouse data layouts using Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medallion Architecture layers.
• Develop Slowly Changing Dimension patterns, historical truth tables, and reusable semantic data models in Databricks SQL.
• Administer Unity Catalog schemas, catalogs, permissions, and data governance controls.
• Optimize SQL queries, caching, indexing, clusters, deployments, logging, alerting, and automated data quality validation.

Requirements

• Current and active Secret security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6+ years with a master’s degree.
• Hands-on SQL experience and strong knowledge of relational databases, indexing, transaction management, and query optimization.
• Knowledge of database security controls and encryption.
• Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments.

Nice to have

• Experience modeling data for use in Foundry Ontologies.
