Senior Software Engineer (Go)

Location: Remote from Costa Rica

What you will do

• Build, review, and maintain mission-critical production systems primarily in Go.
• Evolve DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation.
• Set standards for reliability, security, and observability across systems operating at scale.
• Manage technical debt and make architectural trade-offs aligned with business growth.
• Design proofs of concept and support complex client integrations between the platform and customer systems.
• Mentor global engineering teams through code reviews, design documentation, and hands-on technical support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating complex software systems at scale.
• Strong mastery of idiomatic, concurrent, and performant Go.
• Cloud-native experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or CloudFormation, and AWS or GCP managed services, networking, and security.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, asynchronous messaging, data consistency, CI/CD automation, and observability tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, or ELK.
• Ability to explain complex technical roadmaps to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, model evaluation pipelines, and techniques for improving model quality and reliability.
