Director, Applied AI & Machine Learning (SME)

Location: Remote - US

Base salary: $168,400–$252,600 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary/utilization bonus.

What you will do

• Shape early-stage client AI and machine learning discussions into solution visions built on Microsoft Azure.
• Partner with sales and account teams on opportunity qualification, solution strategy, pipeline development, and deal closure.
• Lead technical discovery, architecture design, whiteboarding, proposals, architecture reviews, and executive presentations.
• Translate business priorities and value drivers into secure, governed, and outcome-focused Data & AI architectures.
• Develop platform accelerators, reference architectures, delivery playbooks, innovation workshops, and proofs of value.
• Mentor architects, data scientists, and team members across pre-sales and delivery advisory work.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data science, AI, data, or analytics roles, with significant enterprise client exposure.
• Experience leading pre-sales or client-facing technical engagements, including discovery, solution design, and executive presentations.
• Deep hands-on expertise in at least one of Azure Data Services, Azure AI, Synapse/Fabric, or Databricks on Azure.
• Ability to design end-to-end Data & AI solutions aligned with client objectives, security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated success influencing pipeline progression and closing deals valued at more than $1 million.
• Strong executive presence, communication, storytelling, whiteboarding, and presentation skills.
