AI Solutions Design Manager (Generative AI)

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; hybrid workplace

Salary: $160,000–$180,000 per year, plus a 20% company-performance bonus

What you will do

• Define the AI and Generative AI vision, roadmap, standards, and reusable architecture patterns.
• Design and deliver AI/ML and GenAI solutions from concept through production, including chatbots, copilots, summarization engines, and content-generation workflows.
• Oversee prompt libraries, embeddings, vector search, knowledge models, RAG systems, model selection, and fine-tuning.
• Manage the AI/GenAI project portfolio and lead data scientists, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders through agile delivery.
• Establish responsible AI governance covering privacy, security, fairness, content filtering, hallucination mitigation, acceptable use, and lifecycle management.
• Develop AI training programs, define performance and business-value KPIs, and lead continuous improvement based on usage and quality data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, AI/ML, engineering, data science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in AI/ML, data analytics, or software engineering, including 3+ years leading technical teams or designing enterprise AI solutions.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, LLMs, NLP, deep learning, and automation technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AI platforms such as Azure ML, Databricks, OpenAI, or AWS.
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying enterprise GenAI or LLM-based applications.
• Cloud certifications in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with MLOps, RAG, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
• Leadership experience across hybrid technical and business teams.
