Physical Security Engineer

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $184,000 – $228,000

What you will do

• Engineer physical security systems including access control, video, intrusion, and perimeter details.
• Produce comprehensive design packages, including drawings, device schedules, and technical specifications.
• Integrate security platforms with site networks, monitoring, and identity management systems.
• Support deployment through site surveys, punch walks, and acceptance testing.
• Coordinate effectively with electrical and IT design teams to ensure seamless infrastructure integration.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing or engineering physical security systems for commercial or critical facilities.
• Ability to produce buildable packages such as riser diagrams, device layouts, and schedules.
• Hands-on experience configuring and testing access control and VMS platforms.
• Strong coordination skills with electrical and IT design disciplines.
• Experience supporting installations and managing project close-out.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lenel, Genetec, or equivalent platforms.
• Knowledge of data center security standards.
• Proficiency in CAD or Revit.
• Understanding of network fundamentals.
