Mechanical Engineer (Fusion)

What you will do

• Own thermo-mechanical hardware designs for fusion generators, including thermal, fluids, and structural subsystems.
• Improve subsystem requirements and solve multidisciplinary engineering problems using first-principles and method-based thinking.
• Design fusion hardware in 3D CAD software such as NX or SolidWorks.
• Perform 1D, 2D, and 3D engineering analyses using in-house and external tools such as ANSYS.
• Lead design reviews, incorporate feedback, and test solutions through to fully functioning systems.
• Work hands-on with technicians and troubleshoot hardware issues on integrated fusion generators.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 7+ years of professional experience delivering full-scope engineering projects, including schedule ownership.
• Experience applying engineering first principles and method-based thinking to challenging problems.
• Hands-on experience across fluids, mechanical, and thermal engineering.
• Advanced experience with CAD software such as NX or SolidWorks.
