What you will do

• Lead and mentor engineering teams, including performance management, career development, and succession planning.
• Develop and execute technology roadmaps for enterprise shared services, frameworks, and real-time platforms.
• Build cloud-based distributed systems supporting AI/ML, customer notifications, servicing updates, and operational events.
• Implement event-driven solutions using Kafka, AWS MQ, microservices, and related distributed-system technologies.
• Translate business requirements into technology solutions and collaborate with technology, architecture, data, and business domain owners.
• Manage technology vendors, evaluate performance, negotiate contracts, and develop strategic partnerships.

Requirements

• Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future Toyota immigration support or visa sponsorship.
• 12+ years of experience as a software engineering leader designing and implementing modern cloud-native business technology solutions.
• 10+ years of experience with cloud platforms, advanced software design patterns and architecture, and DevOps; cloud certifications are expected.
• At least 3 years of experience with real-time event-driven microservice architecture using Kafka and related technologies.
• At least 5 years of experience with Java, Spring Framework, streaming technologies, and microservices architecture.
• At least 5 years of direct management experience and a record of building high-performing teams with enterprise-wide impact.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in computer science or software engineering.
