Director, DevOps & Cloud Engineering

Location: Hybrid, based out of the New York City, NY office, with two or more days per week in the office. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: Approximately $250,000 annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, grow, and develop distributed QA and DevOps teams across onshore and offshore locations.
• Define quality engineering strategy, including automated testing frameworks, regression pipelines, coverage standards, and quality metrics.
• Own the DevOps and platform engineering roadmap covering CI/CD, infrastructure as code, deployment automation, cloud cost optimization, and developer tooling.
• Establish release management and quality gates that support rapid delivery while meeting HIPAA, FDA, SOC 2, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive observability and SRE practices, including on-call operations, incident response, runbooks, SLAs, SLOs, and post-mortems.
• Partner with product engineering, security, regulatory, and IT teams to align standards and improve delivery.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, QA, DevOps, or platform engineering, including 3–5 years in engineering management or senior technical leadership.
• Experience leading QA and DevOps or platform functions and managing distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Deep expertise in CI/CD pipeline design, release automation, developer tooling, and test automation.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, ECS, EKS, and infrastructure as code using Terraform, CDK, or equivalent.
• Experience in regulated environments such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or FDA-regulated software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience, with strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in health tech, medical devices, or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of SRE practices, SLOs, error budgets, chaos engineering, and observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or Grafana.
• Experience with SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, mobile QA, OpenSearch, HIPAA, PHI, and PII compliance.
