Director, Electrical Engineering, NA (Data Centers)

Location: Remote - US; travel of approximately 15–25% is required and may increase over time.

What you will do

• Lead electrical design and engineering for current and future data center development projects from site assessment and conceptual design through commissioning.
• Define engineering strategy, design standards, project criteria, scopes of work, and construction documents.
• Manage and develop a high-performing electrical subject matter expert team, including workload, performance, mentoring, and recruitment.
• Oversee QA/QC, consultant and vendor qualification, technical decisions, budgets, schedules, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with delivery, mission-critical operations, sales, marketing, consultants, vendors, contractors, and executive leadership.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and support technical innovation, client engagement, product development, and operational issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in electrical design and construction required; 20+ years preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in engineering management or leadership required.
• Data center experience required.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical distribution, utility services, substations, medium- and low-voltage systems, emergency and standby power, UPS systems, generators, transformers, switchgear, protection and controls, grounding, and monitoring systems.
• Experience with North American design, construction, commissioning, and operations processes; familiarity with NEC, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Navisworks, CFD modeling, and electrical analysis tools.

Nice to have

• Registration as a US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.).
• 20+ years of experience in electrical design and construction.
• Familiarity with AI tools for process automation and data analysis.
