Employment Resource Advisor / Jr Employment Consultant

What you will do

• Conduct one-on-one sessions to assess clients’ employment needs and career goals.
• Develop personalized job search strategies and career action plans.
• Support resume writing, cover letter development, and interview preparation.
• Facilitate job search workshops and employment-related presentations.
• Maintain accurate client records and monitor progress in database systems.
• Research local labor market trends, connect clients with community resources, and collaborate on service delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in career counseling, employment services, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, facilitation, time management, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.
• Ability to manage multiple client cases and work effectively with diverse populations using cultural sensitivity.
• Knowledge of Kelowna-area labor market trends, employment opportunities, job search strategies, and employment standards.

Nice to have

• Experience in resume writing and interview coaching.
• Career Development Practitioner certification.
