Senior Legal Counsel

What you will do

• Negotiate and draft distribution agreements for entertainment and news channels, direct-to-consumer offerings, and brands across EMEA and Asia Pacific.
• Draft and negotiate content acquisition, advertising, and sponsorship agreements.
• Advise Commercial, Programming, Ad Sales, Marketing, and International Media Distribution teams on legal and commercial matters.
• Advise on copyright, advertising, compliance, and other legislative and regulatory developments.
• Support projects and product launches while collaborating with specialist IP, Litigation, Privacy, and Employment lawyers.
• Supervise and train junior staff when required.

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Approximately six years of post-qualification legal experience or equivalent.
• UK-qualified to practise law preferred; qualification in another jurisdiction may be considered.
• Essential experience leading the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts.
• Strong drafting, communication, stakeholder-management, prioritisation, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Interest in the media industry and related legal issues.

Nice to have

• IP or transactional corporate experience gained in private practice or in-house.
• Interest in using AI to improve efficiency in individual and team workstreams.
