Property Preservation Specialist III

What you will do

• Manage conveyance and reconveyance portfolios, track deadlines, obtain vendor updates, and reduce monetary losses.
• Review and approve loss sheets, curtailment billings, hazard claim repairs, investor allowables, and code violation bids.
• Coordinate with property preservation vendors through weekly conference calls and timely mailbox responses.
• Refer non-conveyable files to Real Estate Owned and coordinate HUD-related actions.
• Complete projects involving nonperforming loan sales, HUD due diligence bids, and overdue tasks.
• Maintain compliance, operational risk controls, internal controls, and audit requirements.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including 2 years in mortgage default or property preservation.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented, independent, motivated, and able to work effectively with internal departments, vendors, and HUD.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Five years of mortgage default or property preservation experience.
• Knowledge of departmental software and M&T Bank systems.
• Prior departmental experience.
