Claims Appraiser - Auto Estimatics (Auto Insurance)

Location: Remote-Field position based in Detroit, Michigan; candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the assigned territory. The role combines work from home for virtual estimates with in-person appointments at body shops and customer locations. Flexible shifts, overtime, irregular hours, and work outside the assigned territory may be required.

Salary: $69,398.62–$91,000 annually, plus potential incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Collect vehicle information from repair shops and customers and complete initial and supplemental estimates using photos or in-person inspections.
• Use automated estimating systems to prepare repair estimates.
• Evaluate vehicle damage, photo documentation, bid content, causation, market value, and reparability issues.
• Provide technical support to claim handlers regarding vehicle repairs.
• Communicate with customers and repair shops through inbound and outbound calls.
• Guide customers through the claims process and address questions or concerns professionally.

Requirements

• Experience in auto collision repair, auto damage estimating, or auto insurance appraisal.
• Strong customer service, critical thinking, decision-making, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask across technical platforms and demonstrate accountability and resourcefulness.
• Physical ability to stoop, bend, and lift as needed to evaluate vehicle damage and create repair estimates.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Successful completion of required training, proficiency and licensing exams, Motor Vehicle Record checks, and background checks.

Nice to have

• Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser License.
• Knowledge of CCC One or Mitchell.
• I-CAR Platinum Certification.
