Claims Appraiser - Auto Estimatics

Location: Detroit, Michigan; candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the territory. Remote-field work combines estimates from home with in-person appointments at body shops and customer locations. Flexible shifts, overtime, irregular hours, and work outside the assigned territory may be required.

Salary: $69,398.62–$91,000 annually, plus potential incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Collect vehicle information and prepare initial and supplemental repair estimates using photos or in-person inspections.
• Use automated estimating systems to evaluate vehicle damage, repairability, market value, and causation.
• Review bid content and photo documentation and provide technical support to claim handlers.
• Answer customer and repair shop calls and guide insureds through the claims process.
• Deliver professional customer service when addressing questions, concerns, and emotionally difficult claim situations.

Requirements

• Experience in auto collision repair, auto damage estimating, or auto insurance appraisal.
• Strong customer service, critical thinking, decision-making, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask across technical platforms and demonstrate accountability and resourcefulness.
• Physical agility for stooping, bending, and lifting while evaluating vehicle damage.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work in the Detroit territory and attend in-person appointments is required.

Nice to have

• Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser License.
• Knowledge of CCC One or Mitchell.
• I-CAR Platinum Certification.
