TL;DR
Compounding Pharmacist (Pharmacy): Overseeing and expanding compounding capabilities while dispensing medications and ensuring compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations, with an accent on quality assurance, patient safety, and hazardous-drug handling. Focus on developing compounded formulations and standard operating procedures, supervising pharmacy personnel, and maintaining compliance with USP , USP , FDA, and Ohio pharmacy requirements.

Location: On-site in Columbus, Ohio, United States; day shift options are Sun–Wed or Wed–Sat, 7:00am–5:30pm.

Salary: $63 per hour, plus potential equity.

What you will do

  • Perform, document, and review compounding procedures, quality assurance checks, quality control checks, and dispensing of compounded preparations.
  • Train and evaluate compounding personnel and supervise technicians’ workflow and work results.
  • Review materials, oversee equipment use, and monitor the compounding environment with the maintenance team.
  • Collaborate with R&D on developing and scaling new compounded formulations.
  • Develop and evaluate standard operating procedures for the compounding laboratory.
  • Provide patient consultations, drug utilization reviews, prescription verification, dispensing, and error documentation.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of pharmacist experience and a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
  • Active Pharmacist License in Ohio and effective knowledge of Ohio and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of USP <795>, USP <800>, other applicable USP chapters, FDA requirements, and hazardous-drug compounding practices.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy and compounding equipment, Windows-based computer systems, and small precision machinery.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, in a fast-paced on-site environment, and collaborate with remote teams.
  • Ability to wear required respiratory protection and PPE, pass respirator fit testing, handle hazardous drugs, stand for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.
