Principal Hardware Design Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, onsite at the Santa Clara, California headquarters 3–5 days per week

Salary: $195,000–$285,000 annually for IC6 roles across US locations and functions, plus incentive opportunities and benefits.

hirify.global develops software and hardware for generative AI compute, including silicon-integrated AI accelerators for large-scale inference.

What you will do

• Lead the development of hardware platforms for silicon-integrated AI accelerators.
• Architect board-level hardware for chiplet-based Neural Processing Units.
• Design and validate high-speed systems supporting 32Gbps+ signals.
• Perform hardware bring-up and validation using oscilloscopes, BERTs, and VNA/TDR equipment.
• Distill complex technical trade-offs into actionable decisions for executive leadership.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of high-complexity hardware design experience in semiconductor, server, or networking industries.
• Mastery of Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, or similar high-end EDA tools.
• Deep knowledge of signal and power integrity, including jitter, crosstalk, and impedance control.
• Proficiency with high-speed oscilloscopes, BERTs, and VNA/TDR equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Open Compute Project standards or large-scale data center deployments.
• Knowledge of liquid cooling integration for high-TDP hardware.
• Familiarity with FPGA prototyping and emulation platforms.
