Commercial Credit Analyst (Commercial Banking)

What you will do

• Analyze new commercial credit requests, material modifications, renewals, and restructurings from deal screening through approval and throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Monitor commercial loan portfolios through annual reviews, interim updates, covenant monitoring, problem loan management, and early-warning indicators.
• Review financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit bureau information, appraisals, industry research, and peer data.
• Prepare financial and projection models, cash flow analyses, collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity calculations, and guarantor statement analyses.
• Recommend risk ratings, transaction structures, conditions, credit mitigants, and actions to manage emerging risks and minimize losses.
• Partner with relationship managers, attend client calls, present analyses during credit discussions and committee meetings, and monitor policy and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, plus at least one year of experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation and analysis, or related financial analysis.
• In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of five years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least one year of relevant financial analysis experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong customer-focused interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
