Plant Accountant (Manufacturing)

Location: Massillon, Ohio, United States; onsite at the plant

Salary: $78,400–$96,000 annually, plus an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate general accounting activities for the plant and maintain a complete, accurate general ledger.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including estimates, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Analyze forecasts, actual costs, business trends, revenues, commitments, and obligations.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and support compliance with financial policies and PCA’s SOX 404 key controls.
• Process hourly payroll and related employee transactions in accordance with company, state, and federal requirements.
• Guide and train accounting associates while assisting the Plant Controller with daily supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; accounting or finance concentration preferred.
• Experience with financial systems for invoicing, credit and collections, expense reporting, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger required.
• Three years of experience in a business office or accounting department preferred, with exposure to general ledger, payroll, or accounts payable functions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, preferably with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of standard accounting procedures, GAAP concepts and principles, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, containerboard, or corrugated packaging.
