Engineering Manager

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; Workplace: Hybrid

What you will do

• Lead a fullstack engineering team and deliver product and technical initiatives while balancing speed, quality, and maintainability.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and support the career growth of engineers.
• Own key systems, define their technical direction, and shape the roadmap with the team.
• Prioritize work, resolve complex technical challenges, and promote engineering best practices.
• Oversee project timelines, deliverables, resource allocation, quality, and budgets.
• Collaborate with Product and cross-functional teams to align goals, drive execution, and communicate progress, risks, and technical direction.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in a technical leadership role such as Tech Lead or Engineering Manager.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating large-scale production systems, including writing and reviewing high-quality code.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, RDBMS, NoSQL, message queues, data technologies, and AWS cloud platforms.
• Data-driven decision-making skills and experience improving team productivity in an agile environment.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and people leadership skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Fullstack engineering leadership experience with AWS, NestJS, Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and related tools.

• Experience with security, cryptography, or machine learning.
