TL;DR
Engineering Manager (Fintech/AI): Leading and scaling engineering teams building financial products and customer-facing systems used by millions across Asia with an accent on technical architecture, delivery quality, and people leadership. Focus on designing APIs and distributed systems, resolving production issues, developing engineers, and connecting engineering decisions to customer and business outcomes.
Location: Taipei, Taiwan; hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the local office

What you will do
- Lead and manage engineers across frontend, backend, and full-stack development.
- Own engineering delivery for major product areas, balancing speed, reliability, scalability, and technical quality.
- Partner with product, design, mobile, backend, and AI teams to turn ambiguous product problems into technical execution.
- Drive architecture and engineering decisions across APIs, databases, integrations, infrastructure, and customer-facing systems.
- Set standards for code quality, testing, observability, security, and production reliability.
- Coach engineers, manage performance, improve engineering processes, and own incident resolution and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering background with experience building and shipping production systems.
- Experience leading or managing software engineers and owning engineering delivery.
- Technical depth across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to make architecture and technical trade-offs while balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
- Strong people leadership, product sense, ownership, and ability to operate effectively with ambiguity.
- Strong English communication is required; candidates should be based in or able to work from Taipei, Taiwan.
