- Drive technical execution across a significant area of the AI platform, including architecture reviews, planning, delivery, and incident response.
- Translate ambiguous product and customer problems into clear technical plans, ownership, and measurable outcomes.
- Improve the platform so customer deployments become faster, more repeatable, and more scalable.
- Set technical direction with senior engineers and engineering leadership while partnering with Product, Design, Deployment, Security, and customer-facing teams.
- Hire, onboard, coach, and retain engineers while building a culture of autonomy, accountability, and growth.
Requirements
- Experience leading a high-performing engineering team during an ambiguous, fast-growing stage.
- Strong technical judgment in production software systems, architecture, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Meaningful experience with LLMs, AI agents, evaluations, orchestration, model behavior, or other production AI systems.
- Strong product judgment and the ability to balance speed, quality, scalability, and customer impact.
- Experience developing engineers, addressing performance issues directly, and raising the talent bar.
- Familiarity with enterprise security and healthcare trust requirements, including HIPAA, SOC 2, PHI, permissions, auditability, logging, and data access.
Culture & Benefits
- Operate with low ego, high standards, direct communication, and founder-level urgency.
- Work closely with architecture, product, customers, and production systems rather than managing from a distance.
- Shape the engineering team, technical foundation, and operating culture during rapid growth.
- Focus on shipped outcomes, system quality, customer trust, and team growth rather than process volume or activity metrics.
