Certified Welding Inspector (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Write and qualify welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR) to AWS D1.1 standards.
• Inspect and certify structural and pressure-boundary welds across the manufacturing line.
• Build and maintain the weld quality program, including acceptance criteria, NDE requirements, and yield targets.
• Qualify welders and operators while managing continuity and requalification tracking.
• Perform root-cause analysis on weld defects to implement corrective fixes in procedures and fixturing.

Requirements

• Must hold a current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential.
• Proven experience writing and qualifying WPS and PQR documentation for production welding.
• Experience running a weld quality program in a high-rate manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Ability to interpret weld maps and fabrication drawings to identify issues before production.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• ASME Section IX or B31 piping experience.
• NDE certifications (UT, RT, MT, PT).
• Experience with robotic or automated welding.
• Background in mission-critical infrastructure or modular fabrication.
