Engineering Manager, Growth Activation (AI)

Location: New York, NY or San Francisco, CA. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of 4–5 engineers.
• Coach engineers through feedback, career development, performance management, and promotions.
• Scale the team through recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
• Stay hands-on with architecture, pair programming, coding, code reviews, and on-call responsibilities.
• Partner with product, design, clinical, finance, provider supply, acquisition, billing, and analytics teams to shape roadmaps and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Improve clinician matching and lifecycle experiences across first appointments, notifications, engagement, habit formation, retention, and reactivation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with modern full-stack technologies.
• 2+ years of hands-on engineering management experience.
• Experience hiring engineers and managing performance, promotions, and career development.
• Technical ability to pair program and contribute directly to implementation.
• High proficiency with React, TypeScript, Node, PostgreSQL, or similar modern stacks.
• Experience shipping and owning production systems in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

• Consumer growth or marketplace experience.
• Experience with experimentation platforms, matching or recommendation systems, and lifecycle engagement.
• Experience with Amplitude or similar analytics tools.
• Experience building AI-powered products.
