Engineering Manager, Operations (AI)

What you will do

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of 4–5 engineers.
• Coach engineers, manage performance and career development, and scale the team through recruiting and onboarding.
• Remain hands-on through architecture, pair programming, coding, code reviews, and on-call.
• Partner with product and design on requirements, roadmaps, sprint planning, and measurable outcomes.
• Set technical direction for systems supporting clinical and business operations, including billing, claims, eligibility, and scheduling.
• Automate manual workflows and design reliable, auditable exception-handling systems that preserve accuracy and patient trust.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with modern full-stack technologies.
• 2+ years of hands-on engineering management experience.
• Experience hiring engineers and managing performance, promotions, and career development.
• Strong technical skills with React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, or similar modern stacks.
• Experience shipping and owning production systems in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
• Strong product judgment, technical depth, delivery focus, and communication skills.

• Backend and workflow-platform experience.
• Automation and AI-enabled operations experience.
• Healthcare billing, claims, or eligibility experience.
• Experience with internal tools, regulated systems, reliability, auditability, and complex edge cases.
