Structural Engineer

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $164,000–$206,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Support structural engineering across a multi-site data center development portfolio from site screening through design, permitting, and construction completion.
• Conduct structural due diligence for greenfield and conversion sites, including foundation conditions, existing structures, and geotechnical constraints.
• Review geotechnical reports and translate soil bearing capacity, settlement risk, and seismic classification into structural design actions.
• Develop and maintain structural bases of design, standard details, and specifications while coordinating with civil, geotechnical, and MEP teams.
• Manage external structural engineers of record through design milestones and review deliverables through IFC.
• Identify structural cost, retrofit, and constructability risks during site selection.

Requirements

• Experience in structural engineering for large-scale buildings or infrastructure, ideally on the owner or developer side.
• Ability to read geotechnical reports and apply soil and seismic data to structural design.
• Experience coordinating with civil, geotechnical, and MEP disciplines and managing external engineers through IFC.
• Knowledge of foundations, structural steel, and building envelope systems for large-format buildings.
• Ability to identify structural cost and constructability risks early in the development process.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license or active pursuit of licensure.
• Experience with data center, industrial, mission-critical, conversion, or retrofit structures.
• Experience with ETABS, RISA, or RAM and seismic design.
