TL;DR
Financial Due Diligence Senior Associate (Mergers & Acquisitions): Performing buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, financial due diligence, and Quality of Earnings reporting for middle-market transactions with an accent on operational data, net working capital, debt, and sustainable cash flows. Focus on designing tailored advisory reports, identifying financial risks and business drivers, leading analyses, and supervising and mentoring associates.

Location: New York, NY, United States; hybrid work with in-person attendance at least three days per week at a hirify.global office or client site. Travel of up to 25% may be required.

Base salary: $121,440–$154,836 per year, plus potential discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

  • Perform buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, including carve-outs, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital markets transactions.
  • Conduct financial due diligence across Income Statement and Balance Sheet areas, identifying key risks and business drivers.
  • Lead analysis of operational data, net working capital, debt, debt-like items, borrowing bases, and business combination or carve-out financial statements.
  • Draft Quality of Earnings and other tailored transaction advisory reports covering normalized earnings, valuation assumptions, budgets, and indebtedness.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development calls.
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and assess associates while meeting targeted billing hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 2–6 years of related experience in transaction advisory, consulting, accounting, or audit.
  • Current knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, SEC reporting, transaction advisory services, or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice.
  • Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, mentoring, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in the New York hybrid arrangement and travel up to 25% as needed.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA certification or CPA in process.
  • Prior relevant consulting experience.
