Head of IT (AI)

Location: San Francisco, hybrid

Salary: $210,000–$250,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5+ IT engineers.
• Own corporate IT infrastructure, helpdesk operations, identity management, device lifecycles, hardware logistics, and the IT budget.
• Build helpdesk SLAs, employee satisfaction metrics, on-call processes, and incident response operations.
• Design zero-touch onboarding, offboarding, and role-based access workflows across HRIS, MDM, and IAM systems.
• Establish SaaS management and procurement processes to control access, vendor spend, software licenses, and shadow IT.
• Deploy internal AI tools and automated IT agents to resolve routine tickets and maintain knowledge bases.

Requirements

• 5+ years of overall IT leadership experience.
• Ideally, 2+ years as a Head of IT or IT Director at an internet company, SaaS business, or AI infrastructure startup.
• Hands-on expertise with Zero Trust Network Access, IAM/SSO, Okta, Google Workspace, MDM, Kandji, Jamf, and Rippling integrations.
• Experience with vendor negotiations, hardware logistics, software license consolidation, and IT budget ownership.
• Ability to build enterprise-ready processes, establish performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
• Proactive approach to using AI tooling and automation to reduce operational friction.
