IT Engineer

Location: On-site in San Jose, United States. Relocation support is available for those moving to San Jose.

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 estimated base salary per year, plus significant equity.

What you will do

• Provide hands-on IT support for ASIC design, software, platform engineering, business operations, and scale-out computing teams.
• Manage onboarding, offboarding, access provisioning, documentation, ticket workflows, and IT asset records.
• Administer Mac, Windows, and Linux endpoints, including imaging, patching, MDM/MAM, antivirus, EDR/XDR, and hardware lifecycle management.
• Implement SSO, role-based access controls, audit trails, and automated user provisioning using tools such as Rippling, Okta, Google Workspace, and FreeIPA.
• Design and maintain wired and wireless networks, VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, segmentation, and secure remote access infrastructure.
• Develop Python, Bash, and PowerShell automation, integrate monitoring and alerting, and coordinate with engineering, security, operations, and external vendors.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in IT support or engineering across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless networking, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Experience with endpoint management, system imaging, hardware lifecycle management, and tools such as Jamf, Intune, Kandji, or JumpCloud.
• Hands-on expertise with enterprise VPNs, zero-trust access models, EDR/XDR, incident response, security practices, and IAM.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell automation and experience prioritizing work through ticketing systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Okta and exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, or developer-oriented compute infrastructure.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
