Software Integration & Verification Lead (Embedded Systems)

Location: Reading, United Kingdom; on-site 5 days per week

Salary: GBP 40,000–65,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct system-level integration testing for hardware and software components in complex embedded defence systems.
• Design, execute, and maintain test plans for automated and manual testing scenarios.
• Use Red Hat Linux and BASH scripting to streamline test processes and environments.
• Use virtualization and Docker to deploy and test containerized applications.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues affecting system reliability, performance, and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate and optimize embedded systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in integration testing within complex embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Linux, BASH scripting, and virtualization technologies.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing and manual testing.
• Proficiency with Docker and experience writing comprehensive test plans and performing system-level validation.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent technical or military experience.
• Willingness and eligibility to obtain SC security clearance; Baseline Personnel Security Standard screening is required during onboarding.

Nice to have

• Experience testing defence or other high-integrity systems.
• Familiarity with hardware-software integration testing tools and frameworks.
• Knowledge of defence standards and compliance requirements.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems.
