Senior QA Engineer (IoT / Embedded & Cloud)

What you will do

• Design end-to-end test coverage across firmware, cloud services, and mobile applications.
• Test device-to-cloud communication, including network failures, reconnections, timeouts, offline operation, OTA updates, and rollback scenarios.
• Test cloud and local APIs, business logic, data validation, error handling, and integration behavior.
• Analyze device and cloud logs to diagnose issues, verify command execution, and identify cross-system anomalies.
• Build test data and configuration strategies for different device types, users, environments, and multi-device scenarios.
• Prioritize scenarios for automation and maintain stable smoke and regression testing processes.

Requirements

• Strong QA experience with complex software products and test coverage across firmware, backend APIs, and mobile applications.
• Strong requirements analysis and systems thinking, including identification of dependencies and integration points.
• Hands-on experience testing REST or gRPC APIs with tools such as Postman, Swagger, or automated tests.
• Experience analyzing UART or syslog device logs and cloud logs with tools such as Kibana or Sentry, plus a basic understanding of embedded systems architecture.
• Experience testing native or cross-platform mobile applications interacting with devices over BLE or Wi-Fi and with cloud services.
• Agile/Scrum experience, QA process development, test artifact management, and defining scenarios for test automation. English is required for technical documentation and communication with an international team.

Nice to have

• Experience testing IoT or smart devices, including OTA updates, connectivity recovery, and offline operation.
• Basic Python or JavaScript skills for test utilities, test data generation, log parsing, or understanding automated tests.
• Experience with device simulators or emulators, Wireshark or tcpdump, or security testing of device-to-cloud integrations.
