IS Application Manager – Sr - GCP

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, modernization, and production support of business-critical cloud-native payment applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Manage and mentor application development teams covering frontend development, backend services, APIs, data processing, testing, implementation, and support.
• Partner with architects and engineering teams to build secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available solutions using GCP services, microservices, containers, and event-driven integrations.
• Provide technical leadership across Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, React or Angular, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging, and distributed systems.
• Oversee Agile planning, estimation, development, testing, defect resolution, release readiness, change execution, and delivery risk management.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, observability, performance tuning, resiliency planning, documentation, and continuous operational improvement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of related experience, including at least 7 years of hands-on enterprise application development.
• At least 3 years leading or managing application development teams in an Agile environment.
• At least 3 years of hands-on cloud-native development experience with GCP or a comparable public cloud.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, integration technologies, databases, and secure software delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with production support, incident management, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, observability, and operational automation.

Nice to have

• Google Cloud certification such as Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Developer, or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
• Experience with GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, IAM, Cloud Build, Terraform, or similar infrastructure automation tools.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications, decomposing monoliths into microservices, and implementing event-driven or high-volume transaction processing systems.
• Payments or financial services experience with areas such as Wires, ACH, Zelle, RTP, Bill Pay, transfers, fraud, or digital channels.
