What you will do

• Provide strategic leadership for the Application Database Administration organization supporting approximately 20,000 enterprise databases.
• Lead and develop database engineers, database administrators, technical managers, and software engineering professionals.
• Define the organization’s vision, operating model, priorities, and performance expectations in alignment with business objectives.
• Partner with infrastructure engineering, architecture, software engineering, business leaders, and enterprise stakeholders on technology strategy and delivery.
• Drive reliability, scalability, automation, modernization, cloud adoption, database DevOps, data obfuscation, and operational excellence.
• Manage engineering programs, budgets, compliance, risk, governance, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development.

Requirements

• At least 13 years of combined higher education and work experience, including 4 years of engineering or architecture experience and 9 years of technology management or program leadership with people management.
• Leadership experience in Application Database Administration, Database Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related enterprise technology organization.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise database technologies, including Oracle and SQL Server; PostgreSQL and cloud database experience are preferred.
• Experience leading large-scale production environments, mission-critical applications, enterprise platforms, modernization initiatives, and complex technology programs.
• Ability to manage strategic planning, financial management, operational execution, risk controls, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and time-management skills, including experience presenting to senior management and leading teams across locations and time zones.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• At least 12 years of technology management or large program leadership experience.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise systems, application frameworks, interfacing applications, and strategic initiatives.
• Experience mentoring leaders from a project management perspective.
