AV Field Engineer (Audio Visual)

Location: Toronto and Mississauga, Canada; primarily on a jobsite with frequent travel required.

Salary: CAD 74,243–100,446 per year.

What you will do

• Commission AV systems at client sites according to project scopes, drawings, and design intent.
• Optimize equipment settings, complete quality checklists, and document changes through redlines.
• Troubleshoot signal flow and complex AV and network systems, coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
• Configure AV networks, coordinate client network requirements, and create or modify DSP files.
• Optimize acoustic echo cancellation for videoconferencing and coordinate control objects with programmers.
• Archive configuration files, communicate project status, and provide lessons learned to installation, design, and pre-sales engineering teams.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree is preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant industry, field installation, or systems design experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex AV and network systems, with strong familiarity with MTR and Zoom Rooms.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Ability to work primarily on jobsites, remain on your feet, lift at least 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and travel frequently.

Nice to have

• DSP certification from Biamp, QSC, or BSS.
• Control certification from QSC, Extron, or Crestron.
• Experience with broadcast or hybrid conference and live-event systems.
• Extron AVE Associate, Audinate Dante Level 3, Biamp Tesira Server, Q-SYS Level 2 and Control 201, Extron Certified Control Professional, Shure Integrated Systems Level 1, or AVIXA CTS.
• Ability to commission and troubleshoot through a virtual connection with onsite support.
