TL;DR

Analog Layout Design Engineer (Electrical Engineering): Designing and verifying intricate analog circuit layouts for cutting-edge technology with an accent on performance, reliability, and efficiency. Focus on microfloor planning, layout verification (ESD, IR drop), and optimizing critical analog circuits to meet strict area and power targets.

Location: Must live and work from Canada. Currently virtual (Toronto area), transitioning to a hybrid model (4 days on-site) once the Toronto office is operational.

Salary: CAD 109,380 - 154,420

What you will do

  • Design complex layouts for analog signal circuits based on detailed design specifications.
  • Perform microfloor planning and optimization to meet area, power, and reliability targets.
  • Conduct layout verification, analyzing process design rules, electron migration, voltage drop (IR), and ESD.
  • Develop and analyze floorplans, power grids, ESD structures, and bumps for analog blocks.
  • Troubleshoot design issues related to tools, flows, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with circuit and structural design teams to negotiate tradeoffs and plan work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in analog layout design (or 1+ year with Master's / PhD).
  • Experience with industry-standard tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and Calibre.
  • Must be based in Canada due to legal regulations.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with advanced process nodes and their layout challenges.
  • Knowledge of process design rules and analog circuit performance optimization.
  • Experience with power grid and floorplan design for high-performance analog circuits.
