TL;DR
Lead Compensation Analyst (Compensation Analytics): Developing and administering compensation programs, market analyses, job architecture, and pay models with an accent on salary benchmarking, internal equity, and financially responsible decision-making. Focus on leading annual compensation reviews, modeling geographic pay differentials, supporting executive and equity compensation, and presenting advanced analyses to leadership.

Location: Remote-based in the United States or Canada; less than 25% travel and attendance at in-person meetings required.

Base pay: USD 133,400–200,100 annually in the San Francisco Bay Area; USD 116,000–174,000 annually in select US metros and states; USD 104,400–156,600 annually in other US locations. The role may also be eligible for a bonus.

What you will do

  • Develop, implement, administer, and improve compensation programs, policies, tools, processes, and system configurations.
  • Provide expert consultation for hiring, promotions, transfers, job matching, reorganizations, job leveling, and career architecture.
  • Lead compensation market studies, salary surveys, benchmarking, competitive assessments, market composites, and salary structure recommendations.
  • Support annual compensation reviews, bonus processes, budget planning, project timelines, communications, training, audits, and cross-functional approvals.
  • Analyze equity and executive compensation, prepare board and Compensation Committee materials, and model long-term incentive scenarios.
  • Develop cost models, workforce planning forecasts, business cases, dashboards, metrics, and reports for leadership audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of progressive compensation experience, including market analysis, program design, and administration.
  • Experience supporting compensation programs in a public company environment.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation survey methodologies and platforms, including Aon/Radford, Mercer, and comparable sources.
  • Strong Workday compensation experience; advanced Excel, PowerPoint, compensation modeling, analytical, consulting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading complex projects and influencing stakeholders across a fast-paced, matrixed global organization.

Nice to have

  • Experience with BetterComp or a comparable compensation technology platform.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
  • Executive compensation experience.
