Lead Java Developer - 12 Month FTC

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of robust Java services, RESTful APIs, cloud-native microservices, and event-driven solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor developers, and promote engineering standards and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions focused on scalability, maintainability, security, and resilience.
• Deploy, operate, monitor, and support applications across AWS and Kubernetes environments.
• Drive CI/CD, automated testing, observability, code quality, and continuous improvement practices.
• Investigate production issues, own resolutions, and collaborate with engineers, architects, product teams, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Substantial commercial experience developing with Java.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and backend services.
• Experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerised applications, AWS, and cloud-native development.
• Experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD tooling, and modern DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, plus automated testing and engineering quality practices.
