Java Developer

Location: London, United Kingdom; offices in London and Leeds. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: £60,000–£100,000 per year, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and support systematic trading models in collaboration with quantitative researchers and trading analysts.
• Develop greenfield Java projects for sports betting and trading applications.
• Design and maintain event-driven microservices and distributed systems.
• Work with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka and AMQ.
• Build systems that process large volumes of data at scale.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers, researchers, and analysts.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional Java development experience.
• Relevant first-class or 2:1 degree from Oxbridge in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related field.
• Exposure to Kafka, AMQ, or similar messaging and streaming technology.
• Familiarity with event-driven design patterns and microservice architecture.
• Experience working on large-scale distributed systems with high data volumes.
• Strong problem-solving ability and an interest in challenging technical work.

Nice to have

• Significant early experience with 8-bit assembly language.
• Interest in functional programming.
