Senior Backend Software Engineer (Java)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom. Hybrid working is available from the London office, home, or abroad.

What you will do

• Build and evolve backend services and infrastructure supporting the company's growth.
• Develop product features for consumers and business partners.
• Own complex backend features end-to-end, from technical design through testing and deployment.
• Deliver scalable, maintainable, high-quality services for an international product.
• Participate in agile development and continuous improvement across a cross-functional product team.
• Partner with the Lead Engineer and mentor mid-level engineers as the London hub grows.

Requirements

• Extensive backend development experience in the Java ecosystem.
• Production experience with Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, message systems, and Git.
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design and Clean or Hexagonal Architecture.
• Knowledge of AWS services including SQS, SNS, and S3, plus Elasticsearch, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and scalable solutions.
• Ability to independently break down ambiguous technical problems, write quality production-ready code, and support mid-level engineers.
