Cost Lead (AI Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $200,000–$253,000 base pay annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Own cost planning across project phases, from concept and pre-design through construction documents, GMP negotiation, construction, and final account.
• Develop estimates for civil, structural, MEP, HV/LV power, cooling, fuel systems, and shell construction.
• Maintain cost forecasts, track actuals against budgets, and manage contingency and cost risk registers.
• Review change orders for scope validity, commercial accuracy, contract entitlement, and pricing gaps.
• Prepare executive-level portfolio cost reports and lead value engineering with design and construction teams.
• Support procurement, bid leveling, scope gap analysis, contract negotiations, and commercial risk allocation.

Requirements

• Experience in cost management, quantity surveying, or construction estimating.
• Hands-on experience with data center or mission-critical construction, including hyperscale, colocation, or large-scale build-to-suit projects.
• Deep knowledge of civil, structural, MEP, HV/LV power, cooling, emergency power, and IT fit-out cost structures.
• Ability to benchmark costs using $/MW, $/SF, and $/kW and understand the impact of power density, redundancy, and cooling strategy.
• Experience with change order review and GMP, lump-sum, and cost-plus contract structures.
• Degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field; proficiency with Procore, Sage, or equivalent tooling.
