Commercial Energy Lead (AI Infrastructure)

Salary: $190,000–$230,000 per year plus bonus

What you will do

• Originate and develop GW-scale energy and infrastructure projects for high-density GPU data centers and other AI compute deployments.
• Define strategic frameworks for project development, primarily within the United States, and lead complex energy and real estate deals from initiation through completion.
• Develop power sourcing strategies focused on thermal resources, evaluating energy markets, nodal pricing, dispatch economics, procurement timing, and LCOE.
• Negotiate and structure power purchase agreements, real estate agreements, physical and financial hedges, tolling agreements, and behind-the-meter configurations.
• Lead data center load interconnection submissions and approvals, property tax abatement negotiations, and compliance coordination with legal and finance teams.
• Build relationships with thermal asset owners, brokers, independent power producers, utilities, and AI workload end users while coordinating cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of energy industry experience in thermal asset project development, financing, or origination.
• Experience with power marketing and PPA negotiation for thermal resources, including utility-scale agreements with independent power producers and utilities.
• Strong knowledge of natural-gas power generation, heat rates, fuel supply logistics, dispatch economics, ISO/RTO market rules, and nodal pricing.
• Experience with complex commercial structures such as physical and financial hedges, tolling agreements, and behind-the-meter configurations.
• Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Relevant degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with carbon capture and storage infrastructure.
• Familiarity with ERCOT.
• Experience with AI infrastructure providers, hyperscalers, or compute developers.
• Experience with large-load energy consumers and the evolving regulatory environment.
