Maintenance Mechanic – Lead (Chemical Manufacturing)

Salary: $63,830–$93,610 annually, plus discretionary bonuses

What you will do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, test, calibrate, and repair mechanical equipment used in chemical production and packaging.
• Support commissioning and startup of a new plant through equipment walkdowns, testing, procedure development, training, and issue resolution.
• Develop weekly maintenance schedules for mechanics and E/I trades in SAP and coordinate shutdown schedules with plant personnel.
• Work with Operations, Engineering, contractors, and other departments to support continuous production.
• Maintain equipment documentation, drawings, databases, and regulatory records.
• Perform basic operation tasks for chillers, cooling towers, generators, air compressors, and steam equipment while following safety and environmental procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial plant, preferably in chemical operations.
• Working knowledge of millwright work, machining, pipefitting, drivetrain equipment, and mechanical drawings.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including experience with pumps, valves, gears, bearings, belts, and other rotating equipment.
• Ability to lift 55 pounds, climb stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces, use PPE including encapsulated suits, and operate forklifts and cleaning equipment.
• Must meet respiratory protection fit-test requirements, complete HAZWOPER training, and serve on the site Emergency Response Team.

Nice to have

• Rotating equipment alignment and rigging experience.
• Preventive and predictive maintenance experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and PCs.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
