IT Business Process Manager (Laboratory Systems)

What you will do

• Own the strategy, implementation, lifecycle management, and operational support of IT applications used in R&D laboratories.
• Lead the implementation of a scientific laboratory data platform and manage related IT projects with vendors and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into technical and functional requirements, value streams, process designs, and improvement initiatives.
• Ensure laboratory applications meet performance, security, data integrity, backup, validation, and GxP compliance requirements.
• Coordinate service support teams, laboratory vendors, users, and R&D stakeholders while maintaining system maps, data flows, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
• Establish governance, KPIs, operational forums, change management, and adoption practices for laboratory systems and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, chemistry, biology, physics, engineering, or a related discipline focused on laboratory systems.
• At least 5 years of experience managing laboratory software and leading digital laboratory implementation projects in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience managing complex IT projects involving vendors and multiple stakeholders, from design through deployment.
• Knowledge of laboratory processes, application development, business process configuration, system validation, and laboratory systems such as LIMS, EMPOWER, LAB-X, and ELN.
• Broad understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and GxP compliance, with strong analytical, strategic, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Spanish and English proficiency required.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing platforms for managing scientific laboratory data.
• Agile or Scrum certification.
