Financial Accountant (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid from offices in London, Bristol, or Amsterdam, or fully remote from the UK, Netherlands, or France

What you will do

• Support month-end close through journals, reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
• Prepare consolidated management accounts and supporting schedules.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and finance reporting.
• Maintain audit-ready balance sheet reconciliations, statutory accounts, and group audit schedules.
• Support underwriter bordereau reports, FCA submissions, VAT, and tax compliance.
• Manage multi-currency and multi-entity transactions while supporting AI and automation initiatives and the Q4 2026 ERP migration.

Requirements

• Fully qualified through ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or RA; part-qualified and actively studying; or Qualified by Experience.
• Strong grounding in month-end close, reconciliations, and management accounts.
• Highly organised and able to manage workload autonomously.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify small variances.
• Clear communication skills, including explaining financial data to non-finance colleagues.
• Ability to identify process improvements and bring structure to an evolving business environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in a scale-up, insurance, or regulated environment.
• Exposure to ERP migrations or interest in using AI tools to optimise finance operations.
