Senior Backend Software Engineer, Integrations Platform

Location: Remote U.S.

Salary: $195K–$229K base pay annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Set technical strategy and direction for critical areas of the Integrations Platform.
• Design and evolve APIs, SDKs, platform primitives, and self-service integration paths.
• Build authentication, data-ingestion, schema-evolution, and observability foundations for secure and reliable integrations.
• Develop scalable backend services and developer tooling, including CI/CD capabilities.
• Drive performance, operational excellence, SDLC best practices, and buy-versus-build decisions.
• Mentor engineers, influence cross-team technical decisions, and create documentation, sample integrations, AI Skills, and workshops.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building reliable, scalable, and fault-tolerant backend systems.
• Deep expertise in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, SDKs, platform abstractions, OAuth, API keys, JWT, and security best practices.
• Experience building resilient integrations and data ingestion for cloud providers, HRIS platforms, identity providers, and code repositories.
• Strong knowledge of rate limiting, retries, idempotency, webhooks, and schema drift management.
• Experience leading teams or complex projects and influencing technical decisions across an organization.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, plus openness to using AI responsibly to improve development workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience in startup or bias-for-action environments, greenfield development, multi-region or government deployments, or security and compliance products.
