Senior Software Engineer, International Payroll

Location: Hybrid role based in the New York City office, United States

Salary: $188,000–$242,000 per year

What you will do

• Own large-scope software projects from discovery through launch, focusing on outcomes and customer impact.
• Build and expand the core computation layer for payroll, money movement, tax calculations, and payroll data interfaces.
• Improve the performance, reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance of high-volume processing systems.
• Strengthen financial ledger integrity and keep highly sensitive data compartmentalized and secure.
• Enhance testing, monitoring, continuous deployment, and platform infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of professional hands-on software engineering experience.
• Mastery of modern server-side programming languages.
• Proficiency with SQL and cloud infrastructure management.
• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
• Experience supporting and mentoring engineers and acting as a force multiplier.
• Experience collaborating closely with designers and product managers.

• Experience with Golang.
